Yet another infosec blog!
I am just a guy that likes computers and has for a long time. No one special. Not an expert on any subject. Sometimes I feel like I don't know anything. But... I am always learning. Lately I'm much more engaged than I've been in quite a long time. Since moving into security from the infrastructure side of IT my passion for playing with computers has been rekindled.
I've worked in information technology my whole life - coming up on 18 years - and the reason for that is I can't think of anything else I'd rather do. For a long time I was jaded. I didn't care about computers, playing with them on my own time wasn't something I did for fun anymore. It was a job. Since I made the pivot into infosec that has changed. It's fun again. People seem to care more. People seem to want to share more. The hacker ethic is strong.
That is one of the things that drove me to start writing about my experiences and thoughts.
What am I going to say?
Infosec is not what most people think. I'd like to write more on what I think security is as I go. But I will say for now that the vast majority of people in the field are not what you'd expect. Not even close. The scope of security is huge and brings in many personalities with many varied skill sets.
I'm not a hacker, but I like to hack things. I like to do CTF challenges and things like that and plan to write about those. I'd like to talk about whatever projects I work on, including this blog (which is made of static html that is generated by a python script). I'd like to dig deeper into what I think security is and what is important about it. Other than that, I'm just going to go with the flow.
Hack the planet!
